Continued growth in small scale RECs

It was another record month for creation of small scale RECs, with 2.63 million created in September!

While Solar PV continued to grow, we saw a decline in the number of SWH RECs.

Solar PV RECs created in September amounted to 2.28 million; a 6% increase on the 2.15 million created for August.

In the case of solar water heaters, RECs created in September amounted to 345,000 which was a reduction of 19% on the 426,000 created in August.

Over the last few months around 2.5 million small scale RECs have been created each month. If this trend continues until the end of the year, then we expect that around 25 million small scale RECs will be created in total for systems installed in the 2010 calendar year.
