Solar Credits and VRECs - it's one or the other.

We’re getting a lot of questions about VRECs under the Solar Credit scheme. Solar Credits (the 5x multiplier) doesn’t apply to VRECs only RECs. Also, you can’t claim Solar Credits for the first 1.5kW and then VRECs for the remainder. The following excerpt from the VREC legislation covers this:

28. Certificates must not be created if Commonwealth certificates already created. A nominated person must not create a certificate for any electricity generated utilising scSolar Credits and VRECs - it's one or the other.heme capacity if that capacity has been utilised to generate electricity in relation to which a Commonwealth certificate has been created.
