The VEEC Scheme Expansion to Non-Residential (i.e. Commercial and Industrial) properties came into effect on 7 Dec 2011 and was further extended per 14 February 2012.  The amended regulations allow prescribed activities that were previously restricted to residential premises to be undertaken in eligible business and other non-residential premises.  Green Energy Trading creates certificates for prescribed activities 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2, 3 & 4 (water heating), 1C, 1D, 3 (solar water heating) and 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 (space heating) for business and non-residential buildings.  Please click here for an overview of VEEC activities by sector.  For a listing of eligible systems please visit the register of products click here.

To be eligible, a business or non-residential premises must fulfil two criteria:

1. the premises must not be a residential premises, defined as buildings classified under Part A3 of the Building Code of Australia as Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 Buildings, and

2. the premises must not appear on the register of scheduled activities within the meaning of section 26G of the Environment Protection Act 1970 (the ‘EREPs’ Register).  To view the register click here.

A maximum of two systems is allowed per premises - each system requires a separate form.

Please note that systems must be listed on the VEEC approved product list and if STCs are also being claimed for particular classes of installation, systems must also appear on the Clean Energy Regulator Register of Solar Water Heaters/Heat Pumps.
